Dwayne and his wife Wendy live in Owings, north Calvert County with their three daughters, Julie (age 17), Lauren (age 15) and Danielle (age 3). Dwayne and Wendy own and operate a superior quality German automotive repair facility, Family Auto Mercedes BMW Specialist, on Skinners Turn Rd in Owings. Their family has previously participated in several community support events and programs that the United Way sponsors such as Christmas in April, National Day of caring and the End Hunger programs.

It is the Crawford Family's desire to give back to the Calvert County community which has supported their family business since it began in 1995 that has resulted in them donating the beautiful one owner, garage kept 1998 Mercedes Benz SLK convertible for the raffle. Tickets for the car are now being sold at Family Auto care for $20 each, and only 1,000 tickets will be sold. First place is the Mercedes, second place is $200 cash, and third place is $100 cash. The drawing will be held live during the Mardi Gras Gala, and the winners do not have to be present to win. The Crawford family has donated this car absolutely in full including the purchase of the car, all advertising, ticket and poster printing and all labor to recondition the car fully, so 100% of the raffle ticket sales go directly to the United Way of Calvert County.

The Crawford family also held an additional fundraiser in the form of a dinner and dance at their business on January 23rd, 2010. There was be great live entertainment by the very talented and exciting John Luskey-Jeff Miller Band and The Rockin Elvis Jim Godbold, incredible food by MD Country Caterers, an open top shelf bar, games of chance and a premium silent auction. Over 190 guests attended this incredible night of food, fun and fundraising.
